These are national numbers set by Circular 22/2014/TT-BTTTT and in use since 1 March 2015, according to LuatVietnam. They are not numbers of this site. A single national emergency number is being piloted in some provinces, An Giang among them, for 2025–2027; until it is announced for the island, use the numbers above.

On 9 October 2025 the Ministry of Health, An Giang province and Vingroup opened a pre-hospital emergency base on Phu Quoc, which SGGP described as the first international-standard base of its kind in Vietnam, with 8 ambulances and more than 40 doctors, nurses, technicians and drivers. The 115 line was to be activated on the island from 10 October 2025. The stated aim is to reach a scene within 8 minutes of a call; that is a target, not a promise.

Saying where you are

Give the name of your hotel or the nearest landmark and the area — Duong Dong, An Thoi, Ganh Dau, Bai Dai, Ham Ninh. Many places are known by their former ward or commune name.

Hospitals the special zone lists for tourist areas

On 6 August 2026 the special zone posted, as an image on its hotline page, a list of three hospitals serving tourist areas. We give the names and areas below; the phone numbers are on that poster and on each hospital's own page.

A 500-bed Phu Quoc General Hospital in the Cua Can area is planned to break ground at the end of 2026, Tuổi Trẻ reported on 5 August 2026. It does not exist yet; a map or listing that shows it as open is wrong. The current public facility is the Medical Centre in Duong Dong.

Complaints about safety, prices and tour services

The special zone publishes hotline numbers for visitors as images on its hotline page. A bilingual poster posted on 3 January 2026 lists separate lines for security and safety (the special zone police), for prices of products and services, and for tourism activities (the Culture and Social Affairs office), plus a QR code for sending feedback to the police. A shorter notice from 1 December 2025 gives the police, tourism and public administration lines. The numbers belong to named officials and can change, so read them from the latest notice rather than from a copy.

In February 2026 the special zone also set up a Tourism Rapid Response Team. Decision 674/QĐ-UBND of 6 February 2026, published on the portal, names its members and puts a vice-chair of the People's Committee at its head. Việt Nam News reported its launch on 26 February 2026 as a 24/7 service with four groups — online, north, central and south of the island — handling pricing, service quality, security, lost property and first aid, with a multilingual QR feedback system.

Medicines, pharmacies and insurance

We do not list individual pharmacies or clinics because we cannot check their hours or stock. The Vietnamese word on the sign is nhà thuốc. Bring prescription medicines in their original packaging with a copy of the prescription, and know the generic name of anything you take regularly, since brand names differ between countries.

Check that your travel insurance covers treatment in private hospitals and transfer to the mainland. The hospital in the north-west describes transfers by road, air and helicopter on its own page; ask your insurer before you travel how such a transfer would be arranged and paid for.

When this page will not help

We cannot give medical advice, tell you which hospital has a free bed, or call a hospital for you. In a medical emergency call 115 first, then read websites.

If you are on a boat in the An Thoi islands and someone is hurt or missing, tell the crew at once and call 112 or 115. Under the special zone's directive of 14 July 2026, canoes must be registered and inspected, must carry life jackets and rescue equipment, must have certified crew and must not leave in bad weather; ask to see the life jackets before the boat departs. Read more on the An Thoi page.
